This is really a fun cake. And a real "wow" factor! You start with a 10" round cake (or whatever size round you would like). After the cake has cooled, cut it in half. I recommend using some type of measuring device and/or straight edge to make sure you get an even straight cut. That is really the most difficult part.
Next, you stack the two halves on top of each other and ice. Add lines to look like an umbrella. I embellished this one with flowers and leaves. I also added a bead border midway down and around the bottom.
The handle of the umbrella is a small wooden rolling pin. You could also use a dowel rod depending on the size and height of the cake. I tied a ribbon around it and added some flowers for decoration.
